John Johnson

Dr. John A. Johnson is a physician, business executive, private equity/venture capital investor, and philanthropist. A board-certified psychiatrist, over the past 35 years, Dr. Johnson has started, acquired, and grown a variety of healthcare organizations that he continues to own and operate including one of Ohio’s largest independent behavioral health centers, Access Ohio, and a 110-bed inpatient psychiatric hospital, Access Hospital, along with primary care centers, substance abuse and residential treatment facilities, and telemedicine and healthcare technology enterprises.

Outside of healthcare, his portfolio companies include US precision manufacturing and additive technologies, financial services, and real estate development and construction. It also includes a real estate portfolio of over 1.1 million square feet of commercial and residential buildings. His organizations employ over 700 people, primarily in the Midwest.

Dr. Johnson is an Associate Professor of Psychiatry at Wright State University and previously has had other academic roles including as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at The Ohio State University. He has completed medical training across Asia, Europe, and the US. He and his wife have resided for the past 25 years in Central Ohio, where they raised their two children.
